Day 116

Ryan is SUCH a momma's boy.  I usually have to stick him in this carrier when I get ready.  He misses me when I'm in the next room :)

We tried peas tonight for the first time.  Do you think he liked them?

Day 115

Ryan & I had the perfect day today.  He woke up at about 8am.  Earlier than normal, but he also went to bed earlier than normal too.  I love picking him up out of his crib in the mornings.  He is just full of smiles and coos.  I brought him back to our bed where I nursed him.  & then we just snuggled for about 15 minutes.  He doesn't usually like to snuggle so much.  He's more of a "Get up mom, let's go play" type of baby.  But he laid in bed with us and just snuggled.  When I got out of bed for a minute, he just stared at Daddy.

We went on a couple of walks this morning.  I wanted to take him because the chance of rain was 100% and I wanted to take him outside before it was raining.  It was cold and I bundled him up in the blanket his grandma made him.  It always makes me smile when his little fingers and toes pop through.

We played a lot today.  We played with blocks and shapes and rattles and stuffed animals.  He was just so perfect today.  He didn't really cry about anything.  He ate his breakfast.  He didn't fuss when it was time to eat, I just knew when it was time to eat and fed him.  He did cry when I laid him down to take a nap.  I kept him in his crib for about 20-30 minutes.  He didn't fall asleep so I took him out and snuggled him and he fell asleep.

We watched some 16 & Pregnant, one of Ryan's favorite shows. Ha.  He started getting a little cranky so I laid him on me and nursed him and he just fell asleep on my chest.  He slept for about 45 minutes.  He hasn't slept on me since he was a little baby.  I loved it.  Sometimes I miss his super snuggly days, but now that he is older and does things, he is so much fun.  I love watching him play and roll around on the floor.

I only have 4 more days at home with him, and it's making me sad.

Tonight for dinner I fed him 2 different things.  Bananas and homemade pears!  Yum!  He loved them both.  I'm going to start him on peas next.  Except, I don't want to because peas are disgusting.  Yuck.

He was just absolutely perfect today and I hope tomorrow is the same as today was.

Day 114

Ryan playing with blocks.  They were a Christmas present from Peyton & Auntie Loni!

Grandma called today.  She wanted to know if Ryan wanted to come over and play.  So we went over there for a few hours so he could play with Grandma and Grandpa.

Ryan was a good boy today.  We spent the morning snuggling in bed.  He had a dr's appointment this morning at 10:30- 12lbs 14 oz.  I take him back next week on Wednesday to check his measurements.  We went and walked around Target and looked at all the clearance items.  We spent time with Grandma & Grandpa.  We played and played and played.  He is such a sweet baby.  I know I say that all the time, but he really is.  He fell asleep at about 7:30.  I cleaned his room when he fell asleep.  I had to organize his clothes.  He has a lot of clothes- all the way up to 2T!  I put all his newborn and 0-3m clothes in a storage bin that I had recently bought.

I can't wait to play all day tomorrow.  I only have 5 more days of Winter break.

Day 113

Tonight I made my first homemade baby food for Ryan.  Pears!  I only had 1 1/2 pears.  It was actually pretty fun!  I got so excited after I had pureed them in the magic bullet and ran upstairs to show Tim. haha.  I can't wait to buy more fruits and vegetables to make Ryan some more food.

Day 111

Ryan & his cousin, Aiden!

We had SUCH a good Christmas.  We slept til about 9:15.  Ryan tried apples for the first time in his cereal for breakfast, he loved it!  Steven, Rebecca, Aiden, & Rian came over to open presents.  I'm lucky to have my best friend as my sister in law.  I get to spend holidays with her and my favorite babies!  The kids opened presents.  Ryan got lots of new toys and clothes.  Dad made some delicious prime rib for dinner.  Yum!  Grandma & Grandpa came over for dinner.  My niece, Haley, came over in the early evening to open her gifts.  We spent the evening playing Yahtzee and chasing around babies.  Mom made some chocolate chip cookies.

Such a good day for my baby's first Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Horrible cell phone picture.  I didn't have my camera all day today.  Boo.  Ryan got some presents from Peyton today!  We took them outside and played.  He loved them.  Thank you, Peyton!

We are currently in Yuma at my parents' house!  Ryan slept the whole way here.  We are so excited for Christmas.  Santa already visited Ryan, he came as soon as Ryan fell asleep!

Day 108

My baby is so sweet.

We spent our evening w/ Grandma & Grandpa Rios, Tom, Caitlyn, & Auntie Jenn.  We had a yummy dinner of tamales, refried beans, and rice.  Yum.  We got to open a few presents.  Tim & I each got a beautiful photo book of our precious boy, made by Grandma.  Made my heart melt.  & Ryan got a Christmas stocking made my Auntie Jenn.

Happy 1st Birthday, Rian Makenzie!

Day 106

I had to take Ryan to the doctor today for a weight check.  I took him for his 6m appointment on Friday, he was 12lbs 8oz.  He had only had a 4 oz weight gain in the past 2 months.  So- the instructions were to bottle feed him (breast milk) after each feeding, and to feed him cereal and solie for breakfast and dinner.  Well- I couldn't get him to eat both cereal and a solid for breakfast.  So breakfast it was cereal.  Dinner was cereal and either carrots (Friday) or pears (Sat + Sun.)  I think he likes carrots more than pears.  Anyways, I took him into the doctor this morning, and he was 12lbs 14oz.  He had gained 6oz in 3 days.   His pediatrician wants him to be about 15lbs.  We're getting there.  They think he is little.  I think he is perfect :)

I'm working with Ryan on a daytime schedule since I have the next 2 weeks off.  So far- it's pretty consistent.  He wakes up about 9:00- diaper change, nurse, bottle, cereal.  Get dressed about 9:45.  Play a little & Christmas shop with Mommy.  11:45- nurse.  12:00- naptime.  He sleeps 1-2 hours.  2:00ish -Wake up.  Nurse & bottle.  Play play play play play play snuggle.  6:00-nurse, cereal, eat some pears.  6:30- bath time, lotion, jammies.  Play a little more.  7:30- nurse and fall asleep.  7:45- crib!

Day 105

We finally got a Christmas tree!  One of the lots here in town, donated the rest of the trees to one of La Palomas here in town.  I was so excited to pick up our free tree.  Tim had to saw off the bottom of it.  He was excited for a real tree too, he loves the way they smell.

Day 104

Ryan met Santa!  & he told Santa that he wanted lots of toys for Christmas.  He isn't too picky about which kinds.  & Yes, he has been a very good boy this year.

Day 103

Ryan squirming around on the table at his 6m check up!
12lbs 8 oz & 24 1/2 in
My tiny little (perfect) baby.  I need to feed him solids this weekend twice a day and have him rechecked on Monday.

Day 101

Perfect little baby feet.

We fed Ryan his first food tonight!  Carrots- just like his cousin :)  He loved it.  I would kind of tease him and hold the spoon up high and he would stare at it and open his mouth. haha.  It was so cute.  Yuuummmy.

Day 100

This picture was not taken today, but is one of the many pictures daddy has worked on for Christmas.

Day 99

Another bath picture.  Ryan has the Boon Frog Pod to hold his toys.  I always dump his toys all over him so he can play.  Today, I put the pod on him & let him look at his toys.  He looks like he is thinking hard to pick a toy out!

Day 98

On Friday night was my work Christmas party.  Which also happened to be mom and dad's first night out since Ryan has been born.  My mom came into town so I felt a lot better about leaving him.  I'm not sure I'm ready to let anyone else do bedtime with him, besides my mom.  I only got to spend about an hour with him on Friday.  I had fun out with friends, but it sure was nice to run up the stairs and peek into my baby's room when I got home :)

A few weeks before I had Ryan, I started getting anxiety about bringing a baby home.  Feeling a little sad that it would no longer just be Tim & I.  We would always, always have a little person around.  That sure has changed.  I can never even leave Ryan.  He is always with me.  If I have to get something at Target, or pick up milk at the grocery store- I buckle Ryan into his carseat and bring him with me.  I miss him when he's sleeping.  He really has blessed our lives and made living so much better.  He is right next to me, with his skin touching mine, sleeping, and just so perfect.  I can never get enough of him.

Day 97

Ryan is so squirmy.  He is always turning himself sideways and upside down.  He decided that he didn't want to lay normal in the tub tonight- he wanted to be sideways.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Day 96

Ryan looks funny in this picture :)

Yesterday, I had my 25 week check up.  Yes, 25 weeks!  After 25 weeks the doctor has finally cleared me! However, I am still not 100% back to normal.  I had asked Tim if he would come to my appointment and take care of Ryan, and they came.  The doctor's office is right next to Joe's Crab Shack.  Tim loves sea food- so we went.  Tim didn't want to wear his paper bib- but it did give a lot of entertainment to Ryan!

Day 94

Getting ready for bed  & realized I didn't take any pictures of Bubba today, so I went into his room to take one on my phone.
He looks so peaceful.

Day 93

Upside down.  I loved his little vest so much, that I decided to go buy another one yesterday @ Macys.  Daddy picked it out.  He's handsome just like Daddy.

Tim took his Christmas pictures today.  I might give a sneak peak sometimes- if Tim lets me!  They are going to be for Christmas cards.

We had a busy shopping day today.  & Tonight was night #2 eating cereal.  I think he liked it even more this time around.  I'm excited to start vegatables soon!

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Day 92

I didn't take any picture today.  Here is my baby @ 10 days old.  This was the first time he tried on his first pair of shoes.  They were huge and make his teeny little legs look even smaller.

Friday, December 3, 2010

Day 91

Ryan stated eating rice cereal today.  I decided that it was time.  I was going to wait until he was 6m old.  But lately I haven't been making enough milk to feed him.  I've been pumping and pumping about 8 times a day on top of feeding him.  It's pretty hard to always pump.  I've even been setting my alarm to wake me up in the middle of the night to pump.  && Ryan is always grabbing at everything trying to eat it.  He LOVED it.  & it was pretty fun for me too :)

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Day 90

Staring at him all day never gets old.

His outfit today is a 0-3m.  He's tiny.

Day 89

Ryan received his first Christmas card and Christmas present today!  His sister, Elyse, sent him a package.  I read him his card, he chewed on it a little bit, and then we called Elyse so we could open the present with her.  Ryan opened the present all by himself.  Well, I stuck his hands underneath the paper so he could tear it open.  It was a book!  "The Night Before Christmas."  You open it up and hear Elyse's voice. "The Night Before Christmas, a present for my baby brother, Ryan, from your big sister, Elyse."   Each time you turn the page you hear a recording of Elyse reading the book to Ryan!

Best present, ever.  I love my babies!
