Day 191

Ryan always drinks his bottle laying down.  He looked funny trying to drink it sitting up, he doesn't know how!  I'm not a fan of feeding my baby while he is just laying by himself.  I like to snuggle.

I think I take a picture of him every night while he drinks his bottle in the boppy.  He just looks so sweet.  I'm always staring at him.  Tonight after he fell asleep I just held him & loved on him & smelled his smell.  It's emotionally overwhelming holding him when he is sleeping in my arms.

About the Boppy- I did NOT buy Ryan a boppy.  I bought this nursing pillow @ Joann Fabrics w/ a 40% off coupon and it came out to like $8.  Then I bought the fabric & my mom picked out two other fabrics.  She made me the covers for it with a pattern that was on the back of the plastic that the pillow was wrapped in.  I don't see how people can buy a PILLOW for $30+ and the slipcovers for like $15-$20.  Crazy people.  I am SUCH a bargain shopper.

Day 190

When I went to pick Ryan up after work.  I was reading Tim's baby book & he tried homemade spaghetti for the first time at 8m.  So, I decided that I wanted Ryan to try spaghetti too!  - But not homemade, Beech-Nut stage 3.  I'm too nervous to give Ryan any real food.  I like him eating baby food.  Daddy was so excited to watch as well, he loves spaghetti.  Tonight was also the first time I let Ryan play in his food.  I always keep him nice and clean.  After he was done with his spaghetti- I put a little glob on his tray.  Which he LOVED.  He was smearing it, picking it up, moving it with his fingers,  It got all ove the entire tray.  I love just watching him learn new things.  It was so cute to watch him try and pick up the little pieces with his fingers.  He's so sweet :)

Ryan's first pair of 6-9 stretchies!  I LOVE Children's Place pajamas.  They are my favorite.  I just washed his new clothes last night and was so excited to put these jammies on him.  They look so cute.

I spent a lot of time today just staring at Ryan.  He is pretty much perfect.

Day 189

Today was the first time Tim & I decided to go on a date without the baby.  The first time in 9 months.  I'm not a fan of leaving Ryan & would rather spend the whole day playing with him and Tim instead.  But Tim loves movies and we haven't been to one since Ryan was 9 days old.  We took him with us to see Toy Story 3!  So, as we got ready, Ryan stared at himself in the mirror.  He had a good ol time.  Tim took the mirror off the wall in the middle of the night.  It hangs above our bed but I think he's worried it might fall on our heads.

We dropped Ryan off at Grandma Rios's house and went to the movies!  We saw "Battle: LA" and ate waaay too much popcorn!  My tummy started hurting from all the popcorn.

My baby <3

Ryan loves bathtime.  As do I.  But it still makes me a little sad that bedtime is coming near.  I wish I could keep him up longer to play!

Before bed I packed up [most of] Ryan's 3-6m clothes and put them away.  Took out his 6-9m clothes and put them in his dresser.  He has been in 3-6 since he was 4 months old, so he's finally getting bigger.  At least we got a lot of use out of them!  But the clothes bin is getting full and I need another one now.

Day 188

This morning/afternoon I took Ryan to a Festival of Books they were having at U of A.  We got there, and there were SO many people, SO many booths.  Totally overwhelming.  Instead of trying to check stuff out, we used it as an opportunity to walk around.  We met Frog & Toad, and Mama & Papa Bear!  I also walked Ryan over to the College of Education and took him inside to show him where Mommy went to school.  I told him he was going to go to U of A too!  Not attending college is not allowed :)

Tonight, we went to Bamboo Club for Auntie Jenn's birthday.  Ryan sat in his seat like a big boy, starting getting squirmy at 8:30.  Which I don't  blame him because bedtime is 7:45.  But he tried his best to sit there.  Brought him home, gave him a bath and bottle.  He didn't feel like hanging in his crib to go to sleep, so he snuggled with Daddy on the couch.  Then I brought him to our bed to nurse him and he finally fell asleep at 10!  Geez.  So- Ladies, bedtime is your friend :)

Happy Birthday, Auntie Jenn!

Day 187

I forgot to write in here, as of Monday, Ryan now says "Bubba."  I love hearing him talk.  Last night Ryan just kept on jabbering and Tim got so excited and said, "Our boy is talking."  Sure it's baby talk- but he is talking and making lots of new sounds.  He makes new silly sounds with his mouth and always immitates what we do.

Day 186

I took this picture with my cell phone right before I came upstairs to go to bed.  Here is his new big boy car seat.  It's so padded and comfortable.  The other day I was working on something downstairs so I strapped him in his seat for a few minutes and he liked it.  I haven't really tried it in the car yet.  I got it at Babies R Us, I had the sales associate stick it in my back seat to make sure it fit before I bought it.  It does fit but it is HUGE!  I'm not sure when I'll start using it.  I'm still looking for a second seat to have in Tim's car.  Grandma Rios also needs a car seat since she watches Ryan while Tim & I are at work.  Car seats are expensive.  I'm usually so cheap, but I am not when it comes to my son's safety.  I want good, reliable, comfortable, rear facing car seats.

Day 185

Playing with Daddy's bubble wrap [with mom's supervision.]

I took Ryan to babytime at the library today!  It was a lot of fun; reading books, singing songs, and dancing, with lots of other silly mommas who aren't afraid to look stupid to make their babies smile :)
