Pre-Easter Activities

What momma doesn't love holidays?

Auntie Loni got the babies some personalized Easter buckets!  We were waiting for them to come in the mail.  Ryan was just as excited as mommy was when they arrived.  I had to cut open the tape for Ryan but I let him do the rest on his own.

Aren't they so cute?  I love them!

I am one of those moms who is always googling events. Story times, family festivals, dollar admission to the Children's Museum.  I had March 20-23 off for Spring Break plus the weekend.  I was looking up things to do with the kids.  On Wednesday we spent the day together as a family.  On Thursday, my mom was coming into town!!  I decided to be brave and take my first outting with the kids without any help from Tim.  I was so nervous!

The mall closest to my house was having a story time, Easter craft, an egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny.  Free pictures with the Easter bunny?  Yes Please!  I pushed Jake around in the stroller and carried Ryan around on my hip.  When I first got there most of the kids were doing a craft or sitting on the floor waiting for story time.  I checked in, got my raffle tickets for a $50 gift card to the Children's Place.  I talked to a few of the ladies working there and then decided to do the Easter craft.  They had little buckets and a bunch of stickers and ribbon for kids to make their own Easter baskets.  I made one for Ryan and one for Jake.  Next we walked over to the carpet to listen to two stories.  Then it was time for pictures with the Easter bunny.  I was a little nervous to try and put Ryan with the Easter bunny since Santa made him scream his little head off.  When it was our turn, I sat Ryan on the couch next to the Easter bunny and put Jake in the bunny's lap.  To my surprise, Ryan didn't cry at all!  He wouldn't smile either, but I didn't care about that, I was just happy that he didn't cry!  Then came time for the raffle.  Guess who won?  Me! I was so stoked.  I haven't been shopping since I Christmas shopped for Elyse and Ryan!  I've been too nervous to take out two babies on my own.  I was so excited.  They also had an egg hunt outside of the mall.  I wanted Ryan to get at least one egg.  I didn't want him getting knocked over by the preschoolers who actually knew what to do.  He got 4 eggs.  We spent about an hour in the play place at the mall.  Something else I love about the malls?  Nursing rooms!  They have rocking chairs for the mommas and toys for older kids.  Ryan just played away while I nursed Jake.  No meltdowns, no crying, free Easter bunny pictures, lots of playing, and a $50 gift card.  My first outing with the babies was a success!

That afternoon my mom got into town.  After Ryan woke up from his nap we did some shopping.  I got Ryan 4 new pairs of jammies, 2 pairs of flip flops, and 3 shirts.  He needed some new 18m shirts as he is finally outgrowing his 12m shirts.

The next morning, mom & I took the babies to story time at a book store.  Followed by more shopping.  Nap time.  Scrabble.  & I finally watched the Justin Beiber movie! ha.  I've been wanting to watch it for so long but Tim didn't want to watch it.  I liked it.

On Saturday morning we drove to the mall about half hour from our house for another egg hunt.  This one was a little different.  There were about 10 stores at the mall who were giving out Easter eggs.  They gave you a little map that showed you which stores were participating.  We walked to each store and made Ryan walk up to get his eggs.  He is so cute <3  After he got all the eggs him and Grandma made an Easter bunny hat.  We spent another hour in the play place where a little girl walked up to him and kissed him!  I missed Ryan's first kiss because I was in the nursing room with Jake!  My mom told me all about it.

Once again, we had a great weekend with my mom.  Lots of shopping, playing, scrabble,  and Easter activites.  Tim worked almost the entire weekend.  We missed him.
