Day 148

Bubba had Mac & Cheese for dinner tonight.  Yum.

Some new things that Ryan does, that mommy and daddy can't get enough of.

-When you clap, Ryan hits his hands together.  Can't quite clap, but trying hard.
-Wiggles his arms and legs when he's so excited.  (Okay, he's been doing this since he's been born, but it never gets old.)
-To try to get toys that he can't reach in the bathtub, Ryan uses his feet to bring the toys within arms reach.
-Grabs out our faces and plays with them.  Smacks Daddy and rubs Momma.
-Sits up pretty well now, especially with his boppy around him.
-Smacks the computer desk when he sits on our lap while we use the computer.
-Laughs when tickled, or about to be tickled.
-Says "mmmm" when he likes his food.
-Always squealing and always talking.
-Use to say a da da da da da, now it's "dada."
-Smiles every time we smile at him.

Some of them aren't so new.  I can't believe how big my baby is getting.

Day 147

We spent the afternoon at the park for Cousin Kylie's 7th birthday party.

Day 146

We had a nice day at home today.  We did some laundry.  Made bean & cheese burritos for breakfast, Ryan had peaches & cereal.  Did some dishes.  Caught up on Teen Mom 2.  Played forever downstairs.  Went on 2 walks.  Took 3 naps.  Snuggled a lot.  Made pulled pork sandwiches for dinner.  Baked some brownies.  Ryan took a bath and nursed himself to sleep at 7:30.

I was carrying Ryan around like a football during our second walk in the late afternoon.  He fell asleep like this.  He hasn't fallen asleep like that since he was a new baby!  So, we came back home and rocked in our glider.

Auntie's little Monkey.

Day 144

These ultrasound pictures were taken a year ago today, on January 27, 2010.  I was 20 weeks pregnant.  We went in for our gender ultrasound.  Even though we found out at 13 weeks that Ryan was a boy.  I was nervous to go into the ultrasound.  I was hoping and praying that Ryan was still a boy, and I was a little nervous that he had somehow changed into a girl!  I was so relieved when the ultrasound tech did indeed, confirm that Ryan was still a boy.

Tim's mom came to the ultrasound with us.  Ryan was so perfect.  He was measuring perfectly.  He was wiggling and jumping around.  We saw him drinking, yawn, wave, move his little legs.  Amazing.

& Here he is, a whole year later.  Now 7 months 1 week and 4 days old.  He's still perfect and he's still amazing.

Day 143

My boys :)

Sent to me today while I was at work.

Tonight Tim and I ate at Casa Del Rio & Bubby sat in the high chair for the first time!  He sits in his all the time, but never has he at a restaurant.  What a big boy.

Day 142

Ryan feeding himself some Gerber Graduates Lil Crunchies.  I let him eat 4 of them, and it took a few minutes to eat them all.  I loved just watching his little fingers try and pick up the food and somehow shove it in his mouth.

& Now,  I'm listening to him talk to himself on his baby monitor before he falls asleep.

Day 141

No matter how many times I see Bubby's little fingers and toes poking through his afghan, it still makes me smile :)  Tim sent me this picture this morning when I was at work.

We went out to eat tonight at La Parilla Suiza for cousin Kylie's 7th birthday!  Happy Birthday baby girl!   Then when I came home I ran into this...

This is a picture of the first time Elyse told me she loved me.  It was August 2008.  She came down for a visit right before she had to go back to school.  The family went to La Parilla Suiza and Elyse was drawing on the back of her kid's menu.  Tim was trying to show Elyse how to do bubble letters.  Elyse started coping them.  Then she wrote out everyone's first initial that was sitting at the table.  When she was done she wrote "I Love R and T."  It made me heart smile.  Later that night, we came home and she asked me if I saw what she wrote on the back of her menu.  I told her I did.  She said, "I wanted to tell you, but I was too shy."  I told her I loved her too.

Day 140

I love Ryan's face in this picture.  He just looks so content.

The other day at work, I was talking to a 1st grade teacher.  We were talking about motherhood and I made the comment, "being a mom is so easy."  She said, "You probably just have a really easy baby."  Which got me thinking, I do have an easy baby.  Taking care of Ryan has always been easy.  My pregnancy was amazing, no morning sickness, no stretch marks.  My labor/delivery went pretty good too.  Sure- I chose to get induced on my due date.  I checked in at 7:30am and had a baby in my arms in 9.5 hours.  My recovery from delivery sucked.  But that's not Ryan's fault. :)  He has always nursed really well.  Always slept at night & only woke up for a feeding. No 3AM playtimes.  Was sleeping through the night since he was 3.5 months old.  He behaves when we go shopping.  Yes- we have rough days- but they are few and far in between.

Yesterday I took him shopping and I held him the whole time & he just hung out with me.  Looking around.

Makes me a little nervous for my second baby.

Day 138

Ryan is constantly rolling across the room.  I moved the coffee table sideways so he has more space to play on the rug.  However, he still rolls his way off the rug onto the wood.  I don't like him on the wood.  I feel like I can keep the rug so much more clean with my constant vacuuming.  He doesn't care.

Day 136

Wednesdays are early out days.  I get to spend a few more hours with Ryan than normal on work days.  Plus I didn't have to drive 15 minutes to get him because today was Tim's day off!  How nice for me.  We went on a walk.  He loves going for walk, & so do I as I feel like I'm burning some calories! ha.  We go for walks almost every day.  We went for 2 today.  He discovered that he is long enough to stretch his little legs and stick them on the stroller tray like this...

I took Ryan to the doctor to get the second half of his flu shot.  He is now 13lbs 4 oz and 25 1/4 long.  That's 12oz and 1 inch longer than he was at 6 months.  Which I am happy about.  He's still tiny though. I'm not concerned.  He does everything a 7 month old baby is supposed to do.  & he's just so sweet.

Tomorrow Auntie Kim is coming over to play with Ryan all day while Tim & I work.  He's pretty excited about that.  He's sleeping next to me so I'm going to scoop him up and lay him in his crib.

Day 135

Today was just so long, and all I wanted to do was come home and spend time with my little man.

Day 134

This picture is so old.  It was taken in February 2007.  Tim & I had known each other for 2 weeks.  This picture ALWAYS makes me smile.  I have it in a frame in our bedroom.

It was the day of my College of Education interview.  I was so nervous.  The weekend before, Tim had helped me pick out my outfit at New York & Co.  I was in my Children's Literature class, and had to leave early to make it to my interview on time.  My heart was racing on the walk to the building, and up the stairs, and even waiting for my turn to be called.  However, I calmed down when I was actually in the interviewing process.  I started out with about 3 other people.  We had a list of about 10 things that we had to put in order of "How important is this in your classroom..."  After that I went into a room with 2 COE professors that asked me a million questions and it all just came so naturally.

I was so excited with how the interview went, that I left school for the day.  I drove over to Digitell in the mall(where Tim worked) to tell him how great the interview went.  Walking through the mall, I found a little Spiderman toy on the floor.  Tim & I actually kept that toy for the longest time.  He sat on Tim's gear shirfter thing on car rides & he would get buckled in the seatbelt when I wasn't in the car.  It's the little things.

We left the mall to go to a different Digitell store.  We hung out there for a while.  We laid in the back on the floor & that's where the picture was taken.  That's why this picture makes me so happy.  We were laying on the floor for such a long time and just talking and laughing.  Tim has ALWAYS been able to make me laugh.

We ended up ordering pizza and playing poker.  The first and only time I've played poker.

We left the store & Tim came over for a sleep over.  I remember that day so perfectly.  I love him.

Day 133

My beautiful baby turned 7 months today!  I can't believe it.  He is closer to 1 than to me being pregnant!   I'm already thinking about his first birthday party.  & I'm so excited that his big sister will be here to celebrate it with him.  She will be here every year :)

We took Ryan to church today.  Tim & I have gone almost every weekend from Easter 2008-May 2010.  Then I just got too fat and pregnant with Ryan.  & After I gave birth, I couldn't do anything.  I couldn't sit, couldn't walk, couldn't lay down, couldn't stand.  I had a hematoma that was pretty bad for the first 2 months after Ryan was born.  It prevented me from being physically comfortable.  It took 6 months to go away.  At least my doctor will always remember me because she did say "I've never seen anything like it before."

Okay- back to chuch, haha.  We have taken Ryan once since he has been born.  Today was his second time there.  We got lots of compliments on how stinkin cute he is.  Raising my kids knowing God, is always something I've wanted to do. So it's pretty special taking Ryan to church.

Our church is on the other side of town.  It's down the road from where the shooting happened last weekend.  Tim, Ryan, & I stopped at the Safeway to see the crime scene.  There was a little memorial for all the victims there.  It was pretty devastating and heart wrenching.  You could actually see where the detectives marked the bullet spots on the sidewalk.  After that, we drove to UMC, where Gabrielle Giffords is staying.  That was even worse than where the people got killed.  The whole courtyard was just FILLED with letters, pictures, flowers, candles, stuffed animals, EVERYTHING.  You can't look at everything and not get teary eyed.  We stayed for a little while walking around and taking pictures.  Until I turned into a whiney little brat because I had been awake 6 hours and not eaten anything. :)

We came home and ate left over breakfast burritos.  Yum!  We watched some football and played on the floor with Ryan.  He is just crazy.  He rolls everywhere, all the time!  He will sometimes stick his butt in the air, which makes me believe he might start crawling soon.  But who really knows?  He doesn't really like sitting up.  I put him in the sitting up position all the time, sometimes he will stay, sometime he gets mad, and sometimes he will lean to the side and fall to the ground.

Ryan tried peas again, for the second time.  He didn't make any funny faces this time.  He actually ate them.  Which I'm happy about.  I do not want a picky eater for a child. He didn't like the chicken I fed him the other day, but I don't blame him.  Baby food chicken can not be real chicken, it smelled horrible- I didn't make him eat it.

Ryan had a bath a little later than usual, because Daddy took his 7 month pictures.  & he was sleeping by 7:30.  I can't wait till tomorrow and play all day again :)

Day 132

I didn't really take any pictures today!  Boo.  & the one picture I do have of Ryan, he looks silly.  He was playing with his toy lawn mower.

We had a little family day today, like we do every weekend.  I love the weekends.  I love spending all day with my favorite boys.  Daddy made breakfast burritos this morning.  Yum!  We played for a while in Ryan's room and stayed in our pajamas until the early afternoon.  I love being lazy at home.

Except now I have a headache.  Calling it an early night.

Day 131

Day 130

We went to hang with Auntie Kim today at Barnes & Noble.

Ryan fell asleep tonight while I was cuddling him.  I didn't want to put him in his crib.  I just wanted to snuggle some more.  But I was hungry so I went downstairs to eat some left over mashed potatoes.  I didn't want Ryan to wake up and roll off the bed so I put him in his crib.  I've said it before- but every day, I feel sad when I put him in his crib.  I wish there were more hours in a day to play and snuggle on my baby.  He is the biggest purpose in my life.  He is just so perfect.

Day 129

Ryan's first time sitting like a big boy in the cart. =)

Day 127

I got this blog at the end of August when Ryan was 2 1/2 months old.  Since I post a picture of him everyday, I want to post pictures from 7/16/10 & 8/16/10.  The first two are when he was exactly 1 month old.  The second picture is pretty dark- but it was the first picture I got of Ryan smiling!  We were snuggling on the couch- what we did allll summer long.  & he just started smiling & the only thing I had was my phone.  He's so sweet.

& the last picture is the day he turned 2 months.  Fresh out of the bath.

Day 126

We had to drop Elyse off at the airport today.  Tim flew to Chicago to take her home & flew back to Tucson.  He is on his way home right now.

Sharing Elyse is probably the hardest thing Tim & I do.  We went 6 months w/o seeing her and now we will go another 3.5 months.  It's really really heart breaking for us to say bye to her.  No  matter how many times we do it, it doesn't get easier.

Day 120

Last night when I was pumping, Ryan woke up.  So Tim brought him into our bedroom.  I put him on my lap and fed him the milk that I had just pumped.  He curled up his body and held his bottle all by himself.

Day 119

Eating dinner w/ Mommy.  Ryan's dinner got cut out!  He had peaches, I had swedish meatballs and rice.

Playing with Daddy.

Today marks the end of my 16 day winter break!  I have to go to work tomorrow.  I'm feeling sad about it.  Ryan has done so many new things in the past 16 days.

-Started solids- carrots, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, bananas,  peas, and peaches.
- Had his first solid poop!  & it was pretty sad.  He just started screaming =(
-Rolled over from back to tummy!  He has tried a million times before but his arm always got stuck so he went back to his back.
-Now that he can roll both ways, he rolls around his room to play with all his toys.
-Had his first Christmas.
-When Daddy goes outback, Ryan & I will walk to the glass window and bang on the window (I hold his hands to do it) & Daddy bangs back.  Ryan banged on the window by himself yesterday!
-Started wearing size 2 diapers.
-Tried Gerber Graduate Peach Puffs  & loves them.
-Has added the "a" sound after consonants.

I am SO sad about leaving him in the morning.  I look forward to him waking up every morning so I can pick him up out of his crib and snuggle.  I've already cried 3 times since he went to bed.  I hope he has a good day tomorrow & I can't wait to pick him up at 4:30!

Saturday, January 1, 2011

Day 118

Not interested in taking pictures.

Ryan fell asleep on NYE at 7:30, I fell asleep at 9:30 & Daddy stayed awake watching tv.
